I've been an intermittent Comcast subscriber for years. In the earlier days of all the mergers, acquisitions and more, it was the worst choice for any one, for any reason.
Currently I have an HD Trip play package including the home phone service. Much to my surprise, I haven't had a single problem with the home phone service - and when I upgraded to the home phone and HD for my tv, I was pleasantly surprised to see very high internet speeds - consistently. Since upgrade, I have ALWAYS tested at above 20mb download and average 1.42m for upload
While tech support seems... less than aware, customer care seems to be alright - I've always received credits or package incentives when I've asked, and they're quick to resolve billing discrepancies or issues. While the ideal is certainly to have a company that can avoid those issues altogether, I'm pleased enough when it's quick resolve.
my major disappointment is with price. Even without bundled services, $55/mo is TOO much to pay for internet now-a-days. With the spread and footprint of service they have, no one in a major market should see such high prices.
