I was a former AT&T DSL customer. I was never able to get more than 1.5 mbps downstream, even with the elite (6.0) package. After debating the switch to cable for several months, I finally made the jump. I'm now routinely getting 10+ mbps downstream for even large files (50+ MB). Powerboost is nice!
I can't speak for the customer service--I haven't had much interaction. I can speak for the install coordination and initial order phone call--both were horrible. It took 45 minutes to set up an appointment, and when the install date came around, the installer showed up a full hour after the end of the install window--without a phone call. The install consisted of a trip to the box out back, and 5 minutes on the phone with corporate.
I asked the installer to please not install the comcast software on my desktop--he obliged, and I slipped him some cash.
The connection is working just fine these days. Can't complain!
