Had comcast and went to verizon for cheaper deal. I had verizon DSL and upgraded to FIOS, and it was the same speed. Called verizon and their reps stated that the speed is dependent on the number of subscribers ahead of you on the your trunk line, so since i live large neighborhood, its out of the question. Left verizon and went back to Comcast's 16/2 tier which wasn't available before, and now will never leave them, just wish the NFL would put the Sunday ticket on cable.

Had an issue that goes back to the day of install, my signal levels were too low as a result of the length of the drop line (250ft). The tech should have installed an amplifier, but didnt. Called in 7 days ago, the comcast rep scheduled a line tech for 9/22. The tech came out and explained that i needed an amplifier to boost the signal. He had to call another tech out to install it later that day, but as soon as the amp was installed, service was much more improved. Still wish i had the NFL sunday ticket.

Upgraded to docsis 3.0 today, speedtest.net tests to 4 of the local servers in my area show 25000+ down, 7500 up. Tried a few tests to the west coast, 20000 down, 4500 up (approx). The only thing im worried about is they split the line from the EMTA that used to have the HSI port active, and ran it to the SB6120. The signal levels are still in the nominal range, 35.4 DS to noice, my upstream power level dropped a bit, from .8 to -3.7 but my upsteam has never been faster. DOCSiS 3.0 is available on the greensburg CMTS, yeaaaaaa!

actually, since the comcast headend unit is less than 500 yards from my place, the speeds im getting are close to 20/10, i aint going to complain, and i sure hope that docsys 3.0 is coming soon

    Re: fios

sweet for you man, that's really close shoot If I had cable that good I would only switch based on bang for buck rule. then again I really think Fios is better regardless how close I was to the CO. I just like teleco's more then cable and I feel cable CO's sould be taxed as teleco's also and that will happen sooner or later.
