I ordered the Comcast triple play in late January and everything was installed about a week later. The connection seems stable so far which is a good thing. I am on the 16/2 plan. When I run the speed tests and tweak tests everything seems to be setup correctly, but when I actually download a file, the download speed is about the same as the 3mb Verizon DSL I had. I was in contact with a Comcast employee from this site who checked everything out and said everything was ok, but was unable to resolve the slow download speeds. The brand of modem I got is an Arris TM602G. I'm not sure if the modem is faulty or not but I am a little bummed about the download speeds. Other than that issue, everything is working good.

    Hey...the speed is inconsistent

the speed do jump up and down consistently all throughout the day going from 1mb/sec to a measily 100kb/sec LOL

This is because their networked are so jammed up that it cannot provide you maximum throughput at all times
with 16mbit, vs what I had only 8mbit you will notice it even more

    download complaints

Out of curiousity...Did you ever think that maybe the reason that your download speed is slower then your download speed test results is that Perhaps(call me crazy) the server that you are downloading your files from are slower than you connection?? Or even that the server you are downloading from at any given time may be bogged down by a bunch of other users downloading files too. You aren't the only one downloading stuff man. If you have 100,000 people d/ling from the same server even if it is supposedly a 100MB connection your not going to get your 18mb/sec d/l. Sorry...aint gonna happen. Your test servers don't have the traffic that your download sites are gonna have. Try downloading your files from another site, preferably one less used.

    Re: download complaints

I figured sites like apple.com and microsoft.com would provide me with a fairly decent download speed. When I downloaded from those sites with my 3mb DSL, it was faster than my 16mb Cable. I know not every website will give me full download speeds, but I would think the cable would be just a bit faster. Also, you don't have to be such a douche bag in your comments.
