Transfer of service 3/5/2012 Moved to new address in the same Comcast corp.
Everything went really well with moving the digital converters and cable modem to the new address. Provisioning seemed to run fine until later that evening when I had to call the HSI support 3 times in order for them to re-provision the modem properly. Once it was finally finished EVERY browser home page on my machine was changed to Xfinity. BS! I don't want your crap software or your value added email. I just want an internet connection. Your walledgarden install does not allow you to opt out of all the warm and fuzzy value added trash your going to install on my machine. I had to clean up the machine and fix every browser you messed up. Should I request an install credit within the 30 days because of that?
Don't mess with end users machines unless they ask you to!
================ Previous Review ================ Comcast internet by itself runs very well. Once you start adding other stuff is when things start to go down hill. Had CDV with combo Avia modem and the connection speeds were very slow. Power Boost speeds were a joke. Dumped it and went back to a normal cable modem and using MagicJack for Phone. Speeds are much faster. Power Boost flys now. I am saving a lot more money now than I was with Phone and Data Combo. MagicJack is a great home phone product for the money.
If you get the digital TV get an amp for the house! Had all kinds of problems with missing pixels, sound and video not synced up. All went away when the amp was installed.
