    I recently moved to a new rental 1.8 miles from my old location and AT&T DSL is not available there like it was at my old location.
    So I had to go with comcast.
    Had 3 options: Comcast, VerizonWireless PC Card, Wildblue Satellite

    So, I ordered comcast. Had to pay 100.00 up front for installation.
    and I am paying 55.00 for internet and 55.00 for digital voice which is a total ripoff!

    I got the 8Mbps / 768Kbps Package but my average speeds are 22Mbps down / 2.5 Mbps up. That I cannot complain. I like speed.

    I ordered the svcs, a tech came out the next day. all installed within 30 minutes. Great Installation.

    They provided a ARRIS modem that uses DHCP technology. It has phone built in and the device has a battery backup if power fails.

    I like the svc.
    I hate the price.

    Recently, I had svc issues. Had 60% packet loss causing the internet and phone to go down.
    The upload dBm was 57. This is to be below 50.
    It took 5 dispatch technicians to fix this problem over a weeks time.
    Each technician knew they had to replace the old lines in the building that have been here since the 1980's but didn't want to do it.
    Finally I told the last tech to just run the lines, I will connect all splitters, etc.

    Bottom line, Comcast techs are lazy.
    A CUSTOMER had to fix the issue.

    Called to upgrade modem to DOCSIS 3.0
    They wouldn't let me do it cause my speed package is 8.0Mbps.
