I had no other choice other than Comcast's Powerboost 15/2 service. The connection is highly reliable. The only shortcoming as we know with cable internet is during prime time when speeds slow down but it's not drastic.
The pre-sales experience is another story. When I signed up, I was told that I would be charged a certain rate for the 1st 3 months and then slightly higher for 9 more. Well after the 1st month's bill, the rate magically doubled (!). I went through pure customer service hell before I could get to anybody who knew what they were saying. I had to ask for the retention department as I was prepared to cancel and file a complaint with the BBB. I was finally able to negotiate a much better rate for 12 months at $33/month with no contract. Also, I had signed on to their paperless billing and auto pay. On the 2nd month's bill, I noticed a mysterious $2 convenience charge and I was told that was because I was using a CC with my auto pay. I was upset and called back again (!) and now I don't see that charge any more.
I am using the Comcast supplied RCA modem and Netgear wireless router and so far they have been working with no issues.
The bottom line is once the dust settles after a not-so-good sales experience, the service is fast and reliable.
