I previously used AT&T DSL; it was a 6Mbps line, had no issues since 2002ish. I went with Comcast when I relocated to try out a cable connection and I was prepared for the worst. Thus far I am pleasently surprised, and the bust download speeds for large file downloads is nice (MSDN ISO downloads, etc.).

The other factor is it bundled TV/Internet with a 12/mo promotion, such that internet is only 3.00/mo. I am now paying less than SATTV & DSL for the comprable service. That is a deal that cannot be beat; however, when the deal is over I will have to think long and hard about keeping the cable internet & cable TV; If U-Verse is available in my neighborhood I'll be playing the sales folks off each other for a while... all in all, Comcast has earned the chance to complete for full price service, I just dislike the spotty latency during prime time usage (5PM-9PM).

One thing I dislike, is how much money they are spending on mailers trying to me to use their VoIP services… thus far, I am getting a mailer damn near EVERY day for it. (average cost of 0.08 per mailer not counting production costs of the mailers); we are approaching $30.00 wasted on my address. (I am not going to sign up; probably wouldn’t use it if they gave it to me for free).
