We've been using cable internet for the past 7 years - originally with AT&T Broadband before Comcast took over, and it's been good to us. Powerboost is a awesome extra too. Too bad it's pretty pricey. But the nice thing, for every increase of speed(for your certain tier) that Comcast provides via system upgrades, the price doesn't change at all. It's like getting upgraded at no cost.
I do advise buying your own modem though - sometimes the local office will send out flaky modems, I had friends with flaky Scientific Atlanta modems - Motorola ones tend to work better in my experiences.
