I just came over to Comcast in The Woodlands, TX because of neighbors' recommendations. I had AT&T DSL (a dry loop -- no phone line), but its performance drops to dialup speeds where I live in the afternoons and evenings. This just started happening two months ago. I've complained, and AT&T says they have a line quality problem. My theory is that UVERSE customers are getting all of my bandwidth. I can't get UVERSE because I'm too far from the central office, but I can get weak DSL over here.
Anyway, Comcast appears to have much better base bandwidth with no slow periods during prime time.
