First off, I had Comcast a couple years ago, but they didn't have the digital starter package then, so the prices kept going up and up right away. I got rid of them when I moved to Oakland county and went with Wide Open West. Now that I have moved back to Macomb county, I decided to give Comcast one more try.
Ordering was a bit complicated. I tried on the PC first and the rep basically disconnected me from the chat half way through my order. Decided to call them up instead and another representative had told me that none of my information was ever taken down. Spent almost 2 hours trying to get the order complete.
Install day came and everything seemed to go smooth, but the tech spent 4 hours installing everything (all there were was three cable boxes and one modem), and half the time he was hanging out in his van doing nothing. Everything finally got installed though.
After the tech left, the internet stopped working. I called Comcast tech support up and tried asking them what the problem was. five of them said I needed a password and that the tech that came to my house should have given me one, which they never did. I never got the password because each rep. kept restarting my modem and disconnecting me from the call, and never called me back. The sixth person said it was probably my router that wasn't working and after being on the phone with him for a half hour, things got back up and running smoothly.
Internet speeds are perfect and much faster than what they were with Wide Open West. Haven't had any slow downs or disconnections. The phone is working great, everything is clear when you talk to someone. The price is decent for everything I'm getting, and I forgot how nice OnDemand was.
All-all, I'm pretty happy with the service and will enjoy it for awhile.
