Good "Nice speeds, low latency,reliable,..cheaper than DISH and Centurylink combined...in my area."
- Location: Johnson City,Washington,TN
- Cost: $137 per month (24 month contract)
- Install: about 2 days
Bad "Outage means no phone,...and we've only had two little ones in 6 months"
Overall "Not as bad as everyone makes out,...in my area,..but YMMV...in your location."
I didn't want to drop DSL for Comcast,..mainly for caps reasons,..but in 6 months,..only went over it once,...by twice...never heard a thing from them (System backup offsite after HD failures,..from dead power supply).
Prob avg close to 200 gigs/month(photographer with a Hulu habit),...so the cap is near,...but never have gotten to it
under normal use.
Local truck guys are nice,...the online billing screw up early on was easily fixed...so ATM...I have no complaints.
Hopefully,...I won't ever.
Here in Gray,..we got the ARRIS box for triple play,..and the preferred packaged with lots of VOD on both the box and PCs....(Infinity is nice,IMHO).
So for about 137 bucks a month,...we get phone,HDTV cable,and 12/2 speeds.
I was paying more(like 20 bucks more),..for non-HDTV DISH and Centurylink's
grandfather speeds of 5m/768k......if I was a new customer,..their prices would have been more for less speed?!....weirdo.
