COMCAST in Alexandria, VA is generally reliable and provides good download speed, but my overall experience has been negative due to poor service. My connection has been disconnected multiple times by service reps actually trying to disconnect other tenants moving out of my apartment building, and in the case of a physical problem with the line it took the company almost a month to restore service, 3 weeks of which was occupied by sending contractors which were not qualified to fix (or in some cases even diagnose) the problem despite the fact that a physical line break had been identified by the first service rep. I'm also irked by unannounced late-night outages for maintenance (these happen fairly consistently on weekend evenings at 2am), despite status boards reading that there are no outages in the area.
Overall, the connection and speed are adequate, but the associated service and responsiveness are terrible. I find myself wishing for the days when I lived in an area wired for fiber.
