So far, I am very pleased with the HSI service coming from AT&T UVerse 24/3 package with a $3 'because we can fee' for the modem I was told when the service first came out would never have a fee. I was looking for a service that would at least match the price of AT&T and hopefully give me a better speed while allowing me to own my modem I could pick out, which I did. Comcast just happened to have a promo, no contract rate for my area which made an easy decision for me to switch for not only faster download, but a faster upload. Overall, I did my research carefully to find the what I feel is the best modem to purchase for the service to save myself a modem rental fee and just pay for the service. Do your research to find what I best for your needs and price range.
