Docsis 3.1 1gb service. X1 slicker than DVRs I have used in the past
CS was very bad for a while, but seems to be improving in 2015/2016.
Best cable tech, and improving customer service

8/29/17 Updated again due to experiences with their Xfinity Wireless roll out. Been a complete cluster f. Part of the issue is the company is too large to communicate with itself.

7/29/17 Update - I lowered their tech support score. I just had a really bad experience wasting my time, due to the fact this this company it too large to communicate with itself.

9/27/16 Update - I have switched to the 3yr contract 1gb docsis 3.1 plan. The contract aspect sucks, but the price of $80 is fair and close to other 1gb providers around the nation. After some initial quirks, the service seems to be working well. Customer service seems to be improving.

8/16/16 update: I only have internet now. It is generally pretty fast and reliable. Customer service, while still poor, has been improved a bit from years ago. On the downside, they introduced data caps in my area.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----------------------------------------------

6mnth check in: I have had Comcast for about 6 months now. Regardless of my run ins with CS, I am happier with Comcast than with my last cable company. The speeds offered are much faster, and the X1 dvr makes it easy to find shows, program recordings, use on-demand, etc.. Comcast does need to improve CS. As a company they make enough money that there's no reason they can't put the needed resources into it and improve.

Also, they really need to stop blocking HBO GO from Roku and other devices. I currently have HBO as part of my promotion, but there is no way I am going to pay for it going forward if they do not allow me to use HBO GO.

Original install: Comcast provides nice services, but their customer service is horrendous. I was told multiple times that I could adds services, boxes, bump up internet speed, etc. without "breaking" my core package/contract. I had them upgrade me from Blast (50meg), which was included in my package to Extreme(105meg). Again, at the time of upgrading, I was told I could have it removed at anytime, it was a seperate add-on from my base package, etc... After a couple months, I called in to drop the $10 Extreme upgrade back to Blast. Now they are charging me the same $10 upgrade fee for Blast, that I was paying for Extreme. I have called twice, having to argue each time until the rep finally realizes I am correct that I should be getting blast for no extra charge. I have spent about two hours on the phone with off shore reps trying to resolve this. They keep telling me it is fixed, yet my bill amount remains wrong. So my advice if you choose to go with Comcast is, pick your initial package carefully, and NEVER try to tweak it. If you do, you will pay dearly in both time & money!
