I've had Comcast for a little over a year now - presently on a promotional package, after complaining a bit - $139/month for Digital Preferred with HBO, 120Mbit download / 20 Mbit upload, four Cablecards for my TiVos. I own my own modem/router, and my TiVos have lifetime service.

I live across from the 'new' Troy High School ('new' is relative, that's for the people who have lived in Troy, MI for awhile now) - the cable plant in this area is pretty new, I believe Comcast replaced everything about three or four years ago.

Couldn't be happier with Comcast - the only 'gotcha' is having them provision the Cablecards correctly. Even calling in the Serial No., Host ID doesn't always allow them to provision the cards. They have to 'build' the outlets correctly. Everytime a Cablecard is added or removed, _all_ the Cablecards on the account need to be re-provisioned.

*Edit, April 2016 - Pretty happy with Comcast, can't complain.

*Edit, September 2017 - Left Comcast for WideOpenWest / Rocket Fiber. Comcast is vile garbage - they no longer offer anything above 10Mbit upload except for their DOCSIS 3.1 package, which is stupid expensive, even though their DOCSIS 3.0 modems and plant in many regions can support much higher uploads. A regional ISP with 1/200th the marketcap of Comcast (WideOpenWest) offers a 500mbit down / 50Mbit up package for $55/month.

Comcast - TWC Merger

I'm not sure when this review initially posted, but the merger has been cancelled and now it's only TWC/Charter.

So your level of satisfaction with Comcast should not change due to any corporate restructuring (at least it the near future). Hopefully

Re: Comcast - TWC Merger

I think I bumped the services to 100 - my service has been rock solid since install, so it was warranted.

Pre-Sales was bumped since I was able to lock-in my current package for another year, in December 2015.

Overall, I was a bit overly harsh in the areas where I rated them 50. I've updated my review to reflect that.
