Ordered the HSI/Phone/TV bundle for $100 a month. I showed up at my new apartment and waited for 4 hours for the techs to show up. Nobody did. I called and complained, and they *lied* saying that the appointment was scheduled for the day before. That could not have been possible as we were not even allowed to be in the apartment that day -- our lease didn't begin until the next day. They ended up coming out on a Saturday. The TV/HSI techs were courteous and neat. We even watched a bit of a fight together. They liked my TV The telephone guy, who came later, was clueless and sloppy. He asked me where the main connect was for the telephone line in the building. Hello, I've been here for one day. Isn't it your job to know that? Plus, the modem for the phone is freaking *huge*.
As far as the service, I am getting what I signed up for. I'd really like to get the next higher HSI package. I don't know how much it will cost me to upgrade.
This is basic cable internet. I think I like DSL better because of the higher uploads. I miss Earthlink!
-- Edit --
Just hit the 1 year mark and we're still stuck with Charter. They're the only game in town. On the plus side I've had no service outages. I did have a splitter go bad but that was no biggie. I'm just pissed that we're stuck with Charter. I like options. But I can't be too pissed at Charter as the apartment complex is partly to blame as well.
Anyway we dropped the cable TV. We never watched it and after the promo ended we were going to end up paying $150 a month for the bundle. So now it's just phone and HSI. I think I've seen a speed increase. My latest speed test put me loser to the 5 package. Might have been a fluke, who knows.
And life goes on...
