Good "broadband access"
- Location: Fenton,Saint Louis,MO
- Cost: $42 per month
- Install: about 1 days
Bad "when there are outages, Charter doesn't handle announcing very well at all"
Overall "U-verse lost a customer due to old-style pricing/speed"

Value for money:
(ratings match consensus)
The "deal" expired, now at about $40/mo for 30 down/5 up.
Been fairly good, but as of late there have been reliability issues and couple that with the time it takes to get beyond a person that would like to reboot every piece of equipment in your house, but you can connect to the Cable modem just fine and see its the one having the issue procuring a DOCSIS single either due to wide-spread outage in STL on 6/5,6/6 or perhaps localized 6/6. Then the 1st line folks are willing to partially make it right monetarily, but the "Senior Adviser" drags feet and really tries to further bring the customer experience even further down.
Due to this latest event, lowering tech/value/services/reliability ratings. Time will tell.
Now at the the 30MB for $30. Great value! Great performance! Tech was from a sub and was very professional and ran the additional coax to center of our house no problem and we were up and running within 30 minutes or so.
---Prior when I had tv+broadband:
I have the 3MB service much like I did with DSL, but the cable has a more consistent speed and reliable connection.
The installer was from a sub, but highly professional and the cable run is more impressive than the RBOC's installation.
Update... the 12 months are just about up and I foind out that they are basically wanting to double my rates. U-Verse is in the area so I'm going to find out what install dates are available. Charter Rep says they can't come close to what U-Verse is offering, but to check next month for updated offers.
