I came to Charter HSI reluctantly because my experience with the CATV side was mixed. However, when I noticed that they had done something to improve the quality of the CATV coverage of Portland stations, I thought maybe I could give it a try. The online/phone people were as usual-incompetent; but the local office people were super.
I used my Motorola 5120, and it connected flawlessly and I am getting the 10/1 I signed up for. I will leave Qwest after a week or two if all continues well. I just can't continue to wait for long periods as large files download on the slow 1.5 line from Qwest, and I am rather angry with Qwest for their refusal to update/upgrade old copper. Their reluctance to up grade the aging infrastructure will come back to bite them in their corporate ass in the future. I will give serious thought to dumping them in Phoenix as well.
No problem with my external email service, I just use the alternative port for SMTP.
