Charter service on Oregon's coast (Newport) is outstanding. The internet connection is fast, reliable and reasonably priced. Now using a Motorola 6121 and have multi-channel down bonding. Still single up. Reliability is very good, and the local staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
I do wish Charter would get over the lameness of not providing a direct phone connection to the local office. Their phone and online systems are still some of the worst in USA. When I have an issue, I have to get in car and drive to local office.
The video side has been equally great. Good HD and reliable quality. However, Charter like all the other cable companies with whom I have done business does a very poor job of insuring that Closed Captioning is working properly on the HD channels. Also, they like others do not seem to check as to whether it is functioning at all on some channels. For those of us relying on CC to provide an alternative to the audio track, frustration runs rampant as well as anger and a definite desire to whack them hard on the ass.
