    DSL from Fairpoint is now available, but it's expensive if you want to get 1-1.5 mbps. I also hear customers complaining that they cannot connect and are blamed by support for any issues...just like Charter. I'm supposed to have 10Mbps. For weeks now it has bounced up and down from sub-1Mbps to 10Mbps with an average of 5-6 M...not getting what I paid for. The worse experience is dealing with Charter's support line which is in Kentucky, Missouri, or once in Mexico. With rare exception do I get anybody who will work to fix the problem or even try and contact the local office in Danville, VT (or Barre VT). I was told four times there was no problems in our area. I had no Internet access for a week. Local Charter employees and technicians I ran down told me there were outages all over our area the past week. The response from Charter's toll free support was "...it's on your computer". I tested 3 different PCs/laptops at work and on other Charter links and they all work fine: all week at work and across the state in Burlington, VT. Mysteriously after a week, all PCs with no configuration changes connect again. That's not my computers! My TV "pixilates", freezes images, and audio bounces up and down the scale. My digital, HD channels (all ten...) change in quality from day to day. The regular channels (~125) quality is now worse since I switched to a HD/DVR box. Another week of this and I'm switching to Dish. The technician just left the house and agreed the screen quality was pasty and not what it should be, but "...it's better than most of our customers in the area.'' Gosh! I'm so lucky to be a Charter customer with inadequate service not as bad as others.
