A little back story first. I left Charter back in early 2003 for DirecTV/AT&T because of TV service issues they couldn't seem to figure out. No major problems with the internet service, just the TV side, but at that time the only option was all or nothing. So I went with someone else (DirecTV and Bellsouth DSL) for my services. No issues with DirecTV or Bellsouth until Bellsouth was bought by AT&T several years later. That’s when the issues started, from billing issues to service outages and the last straw, the supposed "Network congestion during prime time" issue. Being promised credits that were never received and what I felt were just outright lies to get me off the phone with them, until the next month.

So I had enough and my only other option was Charter for my home phone and internet service (Kept DirecTV service). After checking everything out and going to the local office to make the deal, within 5 days service was up and running (03/03/2011). On the 18/2 plan with Unlimited phone (SB6120 and Arris 502 w/battery). Have had no issues with the internet side and only minor issues with the phone and billing, but they were easily resolved through their eChat and a service call.

Bottom line, nobody or company is perfect, but the experience I've had since returning has been pretty good so far. It at least seems like they care to keep my business.

I will update this as needed or every 6-12 months.

UPDATE: 11/20/2011

Just saw the post about the speed increase, did a few speed tests at various places and everything looks good. I'm now getting 30/4. Thanks Charter, two speed increases in less than a year.
