After over a year of the issue of lost upload speed, coupled with my move, I'm actually going to rid myself of most of the service charter has, unfortunately, that isn't the HSI, its the TV. Given they're the only highspeed net in town, I'm stuck.

Tv is still good

Cable, in my area, is bad. Unless you need real HSI, avoid them and the over saturated nodes, which seem to lack any maintenance.

Update 11/25/2012
Well Charter phone service has hit a new low, According to them, Upload speed in not guaranteed. And since I have no upload, but plenty of download, I'm fine....

Do not get charter is the bottom line.

Really...

I am not sure where you got the idea that speed is guaranteed, speed is NOT guaranteed on cable, it is a shared connection at the node, that includes download and upload speed. If you look at your TOS or customer agreement, I am sure somewhere in there is a clause that say's something to the effect of " up to speed" or something like that or even speeds not guaranteed or guaranteed at all times.. I myself have a business account and my connection is critical and has an SLA and an actual guaranteed service rate from my cable company, most of the time, I don't reach my upload or speed all the time but I don't fuss about it because I understand how the cable system works, so when Charter said that upload speeds or speeds are not guaranteed, they were correct and were not lying

Re: Really...

so no upload is acceptable? No, its not, I pay them for 4, not none, so therefore they're not providing the service they claim they will. Call it what you will, No upload, is NONE I pay for "upto" 4 not Zero, which is what I have.. Nothing.

Regardles, Charter service in my area, still is horrible.

Merry xmas

Awful service

My roommate and I are stuck with charter. Unfortunately we have had nothing but trouble with them. Our Internet is unlimited but very unreliable they have been to out house mutiple times to fix it. The cable is awful as well . I got a new tv recently and they wouldn't hook cable up to it unless we sign for a year with them, which we rent and are moving in 6 months so what's the point? They are awful. I had direct tv before and they are much better for cable. Go with them if you have any choice. Charter is awful and frustrating.
