I'm on the 30 down 4 up plan and get 40 consistent with spikes to 50mb and i get a pretty consistent 5mb up. I also have tv and phone I pay about 140 a month with 3 tvs. The bill went up recently due to the all digital conversion and paying for extra boxes.

We had a desync issue for a couple weeks, the first technician didn't show up and reported we weren't home, the second technician "Larry" came by the next day and stayed for 6 hours making sure everything worked (on demand) He was awesome!. It really made up for the first bad experience. ( a squirrel had chewed into the drop line, he also cleaned up the wires that come into the house and even crawled into the crawlspace to make sure everything was okay.)

Ive had some connectivity issues ( DNS servers going down i got some great advice on these forums and haven't had an issue since), The internet has been going down once per month around midnight without explanation but other than that the internet service IS GREAT ( its not nearly as solid as my ATT dsl/uverse was in a different state, but for cable im very pleased).

The TV experience leave a little to bee desired, HD channels aren't selected by default even though they required me to have a specific box for HD television so a lot of times i catch folks watching the SD version that doesnt fit onto newer widescreen sets.

The phone service works well enough, Calls are clear and voices are crispy, the unit has no battery backup though so unsure what happens during a power outage, ( I purchased a UPS device just in case so 911 is still available).

I have had Charter for internet only since 2011 (started on 15/3 tier and currently on 30/4 tier.) My experience with Charter has been fantastic up until last week when I had to have a tech come out for the first time to fix some issues. I too had squirrels chew up my lines and water seeped into them resulting in random packet loss drops, erratic speeds, etc. I used to use my own modem (Motorola SB6120) but after the recent service call it was replaced with a new Cisco Modem (DPC 3208) that supports 8 bonded downstream channels and 4 bonded upstream channels. My Motorola only did 4 bonded downstream channels and 4 bonded upstream channels. My speeds are really consistent even at peak times as my area/node isn't overloaded. Looking forward to the speed increase this summer once the transition to 100% digital is done in my area. I only wish Charter offered faster upload speeds above 5Mbps
