    I signed up and got the fastest non-commercial tier of HSI and basic cable for a fixed price, and the tech showed up early was knowledgable about the services and checked in personally a couple of times to see how I felt about his work. they respond to customers quickly and are eager to serve them.

    update:

    well, I had service and when I canceled, they have been trying to rip off me for cable modems I have owned for 2+ years and the state and city officials have been of no use in getting the issue resolved. the corporate office has refused to intervene and bumps it back to the corrupt office that is causing all of this.

    They don't know how to return calls

    You probably don’t hear anything back from the city/state because Bresnan doesn’t call them back. I do a lot of work for the city and county offices in my area, that is one complaint I have heard a lot from city/county officials.

    If they try and bill you for it file a complaint at »https://esupport.fcc.gov/form2000/, once submitted it will take a couple weeks before it is assigned an agent. After that it’s a speedy process. You will need some type of proof that you own this modem. Hopefully you kept a receipt (CC statement would work as well)... When I canceled service they started the same thing with me, however I used a modem that Bresnan does not offer customers.
