My Other Reviews

·Comcast
After relying on neighbor's unsecured wireless connection, i started to look into getting my own internet. My parents have the fastest FIOS connection you can buy and at my apartment didn't want to hassle with Comcast or Verizon seeing as I may move when my lease is up and have heard horror stories about relocating service with them,

Anyway, I live about 3 miles or less from the nearest 4G clear tower and my speeds are always close to advertised. I'm getting anywhere from 2-7MB down / and anywhere from 0.87MB- 1.2MB up. These speeds are persistent even doing peak time. If you are close to German School Rd in south richmond,VA know there is a 4G tower on that road.

Online gaming on Playstation network is great. I'm never lower then 4 out of 5 bars in connection quality.

All in all, for what I pay and for what I get I am a satisfied clear customer. Just place your modem in your window seal, and go out and buy your own router.

********UPDATE 1/12/11************
Don't know exactly what happened but service has went all to hell. pings way above 150MS even to the FIRST HOP!. Needless to say I cancelled the service and went back to comcast, see my comcast review.....please save yourself the time and avoid clearwire at all costs.....

After the update....

You DO REALIZE that you just gave the Clear service that you now loathe a perfect 100% score because you failed to change your settings. Duh.....

Hmm.

It does that with everyone. When you get it, it's great for the first few weeks/months. Then it turns into 2400 baud dial-up; and that's when it DOES work. Don't try calling the customer service about it, they'll go on about "demo" mode or "running triangulation" on your service. Never fixes it for more than a week.
