Had Windstream broadband for about 7 years. Service was to newly constructed home in new neighborhood. Service was quite good for almost the full 7 years. Speeds have dropped down to 0.5 Mbps or even dial-up range (as low as 0.02) in the past few months. Customer service reads off of a script, it seems. They don't seem to know what is going on, but have to deal with the customers anyway. Business office argues over bill credits. They are happy to charge for services that they do not provide. Service was for 12 Mbps, which was fine for a while, then dropped to 0.4 average. Changed to 6 Mbps tier at suggestion of customer service due to lower utilization, but no change on speeds. Major system problems, but WS doesn't seem to care or have any intention of fixing it in the forseeable future. They will not tell you what the real story is nor will they give a real ETR, just make something up (usually 2 weeks, always moving). WS corporate needs to provide meaningful information to their customer service staff and tools/equipment to their repair personnel so they can actually help their customers, not spend their time apologizing for things outside of their control.
