"Blazing Fast Speeds! Reliable"
"very complicated billing "always" has excess pork in it. False sales pitch used to get you signed up, then don't stick to it."

update: Now I've been with surewest for about 3 yrs and still "love" the reliability and speed of their connection just tested at 19,000/23,000 for $55 mo hard to beat! Where my major beef comes in is their false sales pitches and their very complicated billing where it's so easy for them to hide unjustified charges that most people don't notice and or just pay them. I had a sales person come to my door offering me, "what if I could give you the TV and the internet for less then what you are paying right now for just the internet?" Of course you're going to say yes. Well I don't think there was ever one bill that was less then what I was paying before! I was paying $55 mo and it rarely was under $75 usually closer to $100! I woud call and complain but they would explain it away with well there are fees and taxes that are included that raised your total. Well BS, fees or taxes it still wasnt "LESS" then I was paying before like the salesman told me it would! How many other people have they pulled this on??? I would love to sue them for this and other price gouging techniques they use! I'm very serious about this, I love the connection speed but something has to be done about their unethical and illegal sales and billing procedures! If you're an attorney or law firm that would be interested in this, contact me. Now I discontinued the tv service after my contract runs out and they tell me I have to drive about 30 miles each way to drop off their equiptment. I didn't do it fast enough they now have billed me over $600 for a remote and a stupid lil receiver for lack of better description. My feeling is hey, I didn't go to you for it, you came to me asking. I leased it for over a year being gouged the whole time, now we're done, if you want it back send me a prepaid mailer or come and get it! Help!!
I've been with Surewest for about a year now and have been VERY HAPPY with their service. Even though they advertised 10m both ways for the first nine months I was only getting on avg in the high 4's and usally with the up being the highest but was still very happy with that. I would notice others in my same zip code that were getting high 9's and wondered what the heck they were doing different from me. Then I switched out my router with a Netgear FVX 538 and Bingo my connect rate jumped straight to the upper 9's and now I'm grinning like a fat cat! (whatever the heck that looks like)
I'm now taking advantage of the bandwidth by hosting my own Net Radio Station, www.ROCN.FM. But it's been three weeks now and we're still having problems with them getting the DNS A file correct, it seems it keeps coming back to Surewest in a reverse lookup. What can you do???...
