I liked them in general as an ISP. I had a strong VDSL high speed connection with them because I was lucky enough to have fibre optic to my local central office. As a result in most respects except for absolute high speeds, the connection quality and reliability was equal to or superior than what Shaw would have offered.

I did have to get TV (Optik) to get a bundle discount, otherwise add +$5 extra for internet, plus I had to get a 3 year contract in order to get the $15/month HD-PVR cable box fee waived. When you do it like that, you become a quasi-loyal customer, but you also don't get any of the crazy deals available to switch. And Telus and Shaw always beg you to switch when you're not their customer. So I sort of regret that alas.

The best secondary benefits to Telus VDSL was no bit torrent throttling (like Shaw does) and no enforced monthly transfer cap (although that may have changed recently but I had this connection back in the glory days of unmetered downloading).
