Actual speeds are better than promised internet speed
Promised internet speeds aren't as high as those offered by competitors
TELUS Internet is fast, especially if you're on Fibre. If you're okay with 50 Mbps speeds then you'll be very happy with TELUS.

I was and have been a customer of Shaw's Broadband 100. It's fast and speeds are always between 90 Mbps and 100 Mbps. TELUS has Fibre to the suite in my building so I thought I'd give them a try. 50/10 is the package and I'm getting 53 Mbps down and an unexpected 18 Mbps up. The whole process with TELUS has been pretty flawless. I've forgone the Actiontec router for Internet and am currently only using it for the TELUS Optik TV. I am using my own Asus RT-N56U router for the Internet. Using the Actiontec router, I was only able to get a max of 42 Mbps and the Asus router gets me the 53 Mbps. My connection method is from the GPON 'modem' to a Gigabit switch, then it splits off to each of the two routers. I've had no issues with my Optik TV and as stated, the internet is much faster than with the TELUS supplied equipment.

Similar Experience

Good setup. Once 50/10 is available in the Okanagan then I will have a similar setup. I have the V1000H w/ CWF in bridge mode > Asus RT-N16 w/ TomatoUSB (shibby). I've only got the Optik 25 profile but it gets the job done very well. I was a previous BB100 costumer on Shaw and the speeds during the day were horrid, below 20.
