Competent tech support
Really, should I have to pay $60/month for 1200/239?
After installation glitches, a pretty decent service and at least I don't have to deal with AT&T any more

Having had AT&T DSL for about a decade, it was fairly reliable but when there was a problem I had to work thru a tedious gauntlet which insisted I use MS-Windows and pretend not to have a router. After two rate increases in a year, I decided to switch. Both Comcast and AT&T UVerse declined to provide clear pricing, and Clear users in my area are generally not happy, so Interlync was my only realistic option.

Installation requires two appointments. The first is an AT&T tech, who needs access only to the (outside) network interface. That was smooth. The second is a MegaPath tech, who brings a modem and, according to Interlync, would terminate the DSL in my house at whatever location I chose, without interrupting the existing AT&T DSL. But the tech, when he arrived after two cancellations due to lack of a modem, would do no inside work and could not preserve the AT&T DSL. Instead, he provided somewhat confusing information as to how I could rewire the network Interface to make the switch from AT&T to Interlync. Later that day, I tried and eventually succeeded in switching the wires but couldn't access DSL even tho the modem indicated I had a connection.

At this point I called Interlync and received really helpful tech support. Spending over 2 hours on the phone with me, they were able to verify that the DSL was working, and worked with me to discover that, due to an incompatibility between my router and the new modem, the router had changed its IP address. And they helped me make the necessary changes to get things working.

The install was about a month ago, and service since has been flawless. Compared to AT&T DSL, the measured speed is about the same, but videos are a lot smoother, and downloads seem to be slightly faster. Still, I am paying $60/month, compared to $36 that AT&T was charging. I will eventually move my voice phone service to another carrier, but still will end up paying more for the package (phone + internet) than I was with AT&T.
