Counter-experience: I ordered the 640/90 DSL from their website on Jan 3, 2000. The Westell external modem (and cables) arrived - as promised - 7 business days later, but no software, filters, User Guide. Some phone calls: software etc. arrives about a week later. Tear down 56K modem, intall Westell, software (MacPoET) on my G3 in less than 1/2 hour, up and running. Downloaded a 4.5M file the other day at about 60KB (fun!). Connection appears to stay up (8 hours the other day before I went to bed): my previous ATT ISP was dropping the line 2-3 times per session. I'm just getting comfortable with the unusual experience of leaving my Mac on all day and using OE/Navigator like desktop accessories.
Everything cool, although there is some mixup with my Outlook Express: it appears that the installation blew away my address book and my old mail - but I think I can recover them.(This didn't occur with the Navigator preferences: they have a Profile Manager, and the old "profile" was retained.)
Generally speaking: only the long phone waits have been disappointing - but I *did* get callbacks, some of them unsolicited.
Fingers crossed!!!
