I ordered the DSL service two weeks ago and was given an install date of Jan. 25th. I was assured that the installer would arrive on the 25th between 8am and 5pm. I sat here all day and finally called the DSL Service Center at 3pm to "make sure" they were on track. After 20 minutes on hold I had the displeasure of talking with the most uncaring and unhelpful service rep who informed me that "I see da oder, but da dinnt rite down your oder" ..."dat mean I ken get it re -scheduled fo Feb 11 if you want I do dat" I spent the next 40 minutes off and on hold with this idiot, trying to decifer his misguided attempts at English and asking nicely to repeat himself slowly. This is how I obtained accurate spellings of his verse. Thank God he works for PacBell and not air traffic! What we have now is a disgruntled customer and not a planeload of dead bodies. When he came on the last time he said I should get my order straight with sales and that this was a sales problem. He transferred me to the sales line where I was on hold for 35 more minutes until, yes, you guessed it, the line went dead at 5pm. If you have been keeping track of the minutes in this story and you come up with the one hour and thirty five minutes figure, why, you win a prize. Has anyone else received such horrid treatment? I was so naive. I have lost faith and now I have to call again in the morning to re-schedule an appointment... Charles
