---Update---
Cogeco has gone crazy and decided to strictly enforce a useless 60GB combined cap on a 10Mbit/s connection. While they enforced this cap on a case-by-case basis previously, they now have a draconian system where any amount over the bitcap will cause various levels of service disruption, up to and including disconnection. I have never cared about the cap previously as I knew that my usage, up to a max of 140GB in a single month a few years ago, was never going to be a problem. Now, I have to worry about the idea of my connection being slowed down to 200kbit/s or outright cut off. I will cancel my Cogeco account the first moment I receive any sort of notification. If Cogeco wants to screw people on bitcaps, at least do what Bell does and charge a buck or two per gigabit over the cap, to a maximum fee of $30. If Cogeco had any clue they would implement such a system. There, my rant is over.
I moved into my own apartment in Feb, and had my own cable modem set up. Problems on Cogeco's end prevented the connection from working properly for about three days after install, but that has since been taken care of. Downstream is extremely fast, regularly downloading at 700KB/s. Uploads work well too, but there are intermittent packet loss issues that prevent my VoIP from working as well as it could. I use VoIP as my main telephone line, so reliability is important. Regardless of that, I'm still very pleased with Cogeco's service, and I can't see myself switching any time soon.
