| Cogeco high speed service increase About a month ago Cogeco stats and charts suggested that 5.5 Meg was the speed for about 100 - 110 users and represented the highest range in the Cogeco chart.
Since they doubled the Cogeco lite speed February 17 I have noticed that the charts show a range about 6.5 Meg for about 40 - 50 users and this also represented the highest range in the Cogeco chart.
Has Cogeco increased the 5000/640 service and therefore are getting speeds of 6 to 7 Megs.
Bell is now offering a 6 Meg service with no increase in cost for those who were signed up for the 3 Meg service.
Looks like the customer is getting the benefit from this competition and struggle for market share.
Bell cannot offer Cable TV and the trend with VOIP seems to point to a cable victory in internet service, long distance service, and TV service in the long run.
Balanced competition in overall phone service will keep the costs low.
Bundled with Cogeco digital cable my internet 5000/640 service costs $39.95. Two years ago Cogeco was offering download speeds of 5 Meg service replacing their 3 Meg service with no change in cost. Their present promotion offers 5000/640 service for $34.95 for 12 months without a cable or other bundling.
Has Cogeco announced a faster service or have they just increased the speed without any fanfare?
Can't beat Cogeco. |
