I have updated the review pts.

Our connection has not gone down unless I have been tinkering with it.

I am having issues with my dlink DIR-625 as my Nintendo Wii will not connect wirelessly, and is giving me errors stating its the firewall on the router.

Am in dire need to get this working!

    ******UPDATE DECEMBER 1st 07********

I believe the node we are on is way overloaded, speed has dropped terribly, still on pro package and now getting the following speed 2408/908

Also ability to watch streaming videos is non existent, takes forever to load. Also buffering is every 2 seconds.

Cogeco has gone down in their support, and service,

    ******************************************************************************************

Overall i am satisfied with Cogeco. the speed is much faster then my DSL connection but can also fluctuate and be more unstable at times especially when i have it on more then one computer.. It took a while to get up and running perfect (3 weeks) but once it did I am flying!!!!!

I just wish the technical support had more trouble shooting them sending out a technician, that is very annoying and time consuming as someone has to be home.. Don't get me wrong, the technicians are AMAZING and all of Cogeco's employees have been very polite and curteous.

    Tech Support

What do you expect tech support to do, get a magic wand and boost your line, there is no throttling with any ISP providers it is a myth unless you live in the States. A tech support agent on the phone can only diagnose your signal and the connection to your mdm. If you have a crappy router or 3+ computers and are downloading torrents and music and run your speed test obviously you will get slow speeds, that's the same will all companies not just Cogeco. We at Rogers have the same problem, so again what do you expect a tech agent to do over the phone?

    Re: Tech Support

At a guess I'd say he's expecting tech support to know when an area is overloaded and not waste their time, a tech's time, or the customer's time on an unnecessary tech visit?

Umm There is no throttling, So cogeco rogers and bell do not throttle? I beg to differ

    @bell.ca
Typical lame excuses from a TECH guy. By the way you write is shows why customers get mad with the techs over the phone. You come across by people phoning you it bothers you.
Thank god we do not live where Rogers is available!!!

BUT, BUT, BUT, what if you DON'T have a crappy router or 3+ computers and aren't downloading torrents and music and then you run your speed test (because your usual speed has died) AND YOU obviously get slow speeds... What if everything has been just fine AND then the speed just suddenly crawls to near STOP on a High speed internet service (a normally reliable one) like Cogeco? And it stays that way... A near-death experience for high speed internet... WHAT THEN?

    DSL vs CABLE

The battles continues with regard to DSL or Cable...you have to choose which of two evils that you want to go with. High Speed Internet will truly be slow and plagued with problems (over loading nodes...distance from Central Point) unless you get something like the states have...FiOS for example has fiber going too your house. Sure it is capped..but, you get that speed nevertheless...no sharing or anything like that.

    bizarre

? Bell is under siege for its throttling and you advise switching to DSL which is Bell or rented from bell. Either way, Throttled.

    Re: bizarre

at the time the review was written I advised that, and I said dsl provider not bell, in some areas there are others that do not run on bells network.
