I have been with DirecWay for 7 years. At the time it was the only choice I had other than dial up. They have never delivered what they promised. The installer mounted it to the side of my house with plastic siding, he couldn't get a signal so he moved it 3 times leaving 10 open holes. I complained to direcway but they said he was a sub-contractor and to sue him. The service and and restrictions have gotten worse over the years, and to top that they moved their Tech. Support to India. Every other day I have to shut down modems and discharge them. I get a 90% signal and have never got download speeds over 500kbs and the last year it has been 200kbs max. I called today and found they switched me to another gateway which already saturated with users, they never told me this, I had to call and find out on my own. Today I reported them to the BBB and found out that my state wants to stop them from operating in it because of the large amount of complaints. I did a search on the Internet and found 6 other satellite companies serving my area now. I have dropped Dway and will start my new service tomorrow. They provided me with a guarantee on the min. downloads and uploads. Their Tech Support is here in the USA. I have a FAP 5 times the size of Dways. There was no setup free and I got a couple months free service. I can use my old Dway satellite and modems. I did have to sign a 1 year contract, but can cancel if they don't maintain any of the above items. If I cancel for no reason the fee is very minimal. The company is Nationwide, and I found it here on this site with excellent reviews. With satellite you don't expect much and I hope these guys can deliver, but after talking to the BBB I knew it was time to change. I will let you know how it goes in a couple of months. I forgot to mention the monthly service was higher than Dways $59.00 per month, but the free months will equal it out.
See Ya Direcway, you suck!

After I wrote this review I switched to Ground Control and had excellent service for 2 years. I was able to use the old Dway equipment and better speeds because they moved me to another gateway. Two years ago I decided to try Wildblue Satellite. They seemed to have a faster connection and more reliability, but like Dway it was impossible dealing with their Tech Support or lack of. On WildBlue I was getting downloads around 768k and uploads of about 256k but I was always hitting the rolling 30 day FAP even tho I am a light user and disconnected the power every night. I cant count the number of complaints I have had to tech support but almost every time they would never call me back. So I switched again. This time I went to Mobile broadband company called Millenicom. At the time they were offering speeds up to 3mbs down and 256 up for $49.00 per month. My connection always seems to be abound 768 up to 2 mbs and about 128 to 256k uploads. They recently raised their unlimited connections to $59.00 but because their service was good I paid the extra $10.00 per month. Recently they had a little problem with the connection of the Franklin cdu680s, they randomly started failing, so we were told. I found out that they were switching their providers from Sprint to Verizon and had decommissioned the modems before replacing the ones their users were using. This caused a massive outage, they were telling their users to send the Franklin back and they would replace it with a Pan tech modem which works on the Verizon network. I called to complain because I had purchased the router CTR350 the one they recommended to me and an external antenna to go with the Franklin that would not work with the Pan-tech. after spending some time on the phone to the Company headquarters they decided to re-register my old Franklin. Today it seems to be working well. Since this has occurred I have been looking around again and have found a company that offers up to 4mbs for $59.00 per month, I am considering switching. If you live in the lower 2/3 of DE you do not have much choice if you don't live in a town because you cant get Cable of DSL, so we are forced to deal with terrible companies like Hughes Net and Wild Blue. I have given up on hope that cable or DSL will ever reach me so I am forced to pay high prices for slow unreliable connections. The next time you are complaining about your 8mbs connection, think about us who live in the lower 2/3s of DE.
