    This has proved a very reliable ISP and keeps improving. It easily outpaces dial-up. I have the HN7000s on the Pro+ plan. It is advertised for 1500 down / 200 up for $79.95/mo. I average 1350 down and 180 up. If you live where there is no alternative and you don't want to move, this is the way to go.

    The latency is bad for playing action/twitch games and is annoying on VOIP. Damp heavy snow on the dish will kill the signal (brushing it off will restore service).

    Patience is needed if you are used to true high-speed broadband. My weather station uploads data 24/7 with only a three percent (documented) downtime due to weather, power, or Hughesnet.
