I've been paying Hughes for 5 1/2 years. My install was good, so it's very rare that the connection isn't working. Satellite is slow, but even if it was lightning fast, you are limited on how much you can use the internet during a 24 hour period. (Mine is 200MB for $59.99 monthly.) If you go over, you are penalized for 25 hours by having your connection dropped to BELOW dial-up speeds. They give you no means of monitoring how much you've used, so be careful watching videos or streaming audio. A couple of minutes is fine.
Satellite is a last resort, get anything else if you have the choice. No one using satellite would be a customer if they had any choice.
