    Ordered Shaw high speed, Home Phone and Cable to be installed for 2 days after I moved to Calgary. Shaw's technician showed up to do the install 1 day before I had asked them to come. They never called to ask if that was ok. No one was home so he left a card and took off.

    My next install, the Shaw technician showed up at the front door, even though I had clearly told them to come to the side door (basement suite). He left a card at the front door and took off. I got the card only minutes after he had left it.

    Third time, the Shaw technician showed up 2 hours early for his appointment. I was still at work and was unable to leave. Because of all of my previous issues with the installation, the tech waited for me to come home from work. He performed the install of all of my services including basic cable. I wasn't satisfied with the basic cable hookup, so he upgraded it to full cable (not digital) on the spot for me.

    The internet connection is horrible. If it's not later than 2am, I usually get a 2mb download speed. After 2am I get 10-15mbps depending on which application I'm downloading with. Powerboost works great during the 2am-4am window and gets me 15mbps downloading from newsgroups.

    This segment, and most of Calgary from what I've seen, are overloaded with people. I'm paying for a 10mb connection and at most times am getting less than 1/3 of that. I don't recommend this service until Shaw gets their act together and fixes it.

    Edit: In the past week I've noticed that I'm getting my advertised speeds at all times of the day. It looks like Shaw has finally fixed the saturation issues in my area and as such I am a very satisfied customer.
