OK if you are still grandfathered into old unlimited package.
Network Congestion Major unlimited packaged removed due to network strain
Shaws actions admit thier network is unable to sustain anything greater than they currently do. Eliminated high use plans.

Seems that Shaw has sold more of these packages than they can support in the Edmonton area, as speeds have dropped below what the package offered original with only half of the upload channels bound. 15Mb upload is unseen anywhere outside of speedtest.shaw.ca (shaw network), points to congested equipment... time to upgrade Shaw, obviously the digital conversion didn't free up enough bandwidth.

Speeds in image below are from the Unlimited 250 plan, It should show 250/15 yet the numbers are far off, especially poor on the upload.

*updated
Unlimited packages above 100 have been removed due to too much strain on the network... guess the initial hypothesis wasn't too far off...

I agree

They promise such great speeds but they are not consistent at all. They then say "oh we're upgrading xxx date", however it never happens and they just move back the date.

Shaw's quest for profit...

Shaw's quest for profit and not investing into the network for consumer satisfaction with consistent speeds and speed upgrades, will now hurt their business, Who in will join Shaw when they admit there're network can't handle the traffic anymore? It's bad enough we have to live with the slogan it's "Up to" XXXmbps, let alone we all now know it's a pipe dream to achieve any advertised speeds with Shaw.
