I've been a follower of Covad for many years, before their bankrupt status and pull out of bankrupt.
I've got many circuits with them, and may get more circuits from them in the future -- if they clean up their act.

Unfortunately they seem to have done too much cost cutting and are no longer providing great service. Sales and management need to get back in touch with the techs, as they're pushing problematic circuits (ie, sales pushes dedicated loop DSL, but shared line is more reliable since Verizon ensures circuit pair quality)

I have experienced VERY bad installations on 2 DSL line installations I ordered in June. 1 Required over 2 calls to tech support PER DAY for 2 weeks to get one line "mostly" stable. The other required several ranting calls to get covad to re-dispatch a good tech on-site.

Management needs to listen to the on-site techs. They refuse to believe the CLEC or CO office equipment needs to be replaced, instead continue doing loop tests which all show great. Resetting the CO card fixes all problems for a few days... the on site techs I have talked to say the same thing -- management isn't listening to the techs.

The on-site techs are generally really good, and complain that it's tough to get the company to dispatch them and/or fix CO issues.

I just recently put orders in for 3 T1s to another provider because of the issues with Covad.

I hope they manage to get their company back in order soon, they used to be much better at getting the job done properly.

update -- after 104+ degee weather, circuits went dead again. Covad tech support was useless, and I am moving on. As my client circuits come up for renewal they are being moved to other providers as well. I just ordered 3 T1's from another provider and so far very happy (with the other provider). Sorry Covad but you're done.
