UPDATE 2007 - Ted Rogers is scum. It works fine, throttle on and off, speed is ok. Go with TekSavvy.
UPDATE 10/17/05 - Hmm.... got new webstar modem, speeds are good, but rogers is throttling all media files now. unacceptable. combine it with the 60gb cap, i say go with Bell.
UPDATE 10/03/05 - Speed keeps fluncuating. Rogers not helping. Weak Cable Quality. God new modem, doesn't help.
UPDATE 11/13/04 - Service is decent. Would choose Bell over Rogers
UPDATE 03/05/04 - Rogers just attemped to overcharge me for the internet, by not giving me one of the bundle credits. Speed is getting more consistent, between 2300-2800 down
STAY AWAY FROM ROGERS IF YOU CAN
UPDATE 01/25/04 - Got a new modem, Motorola SurfBoard, to replace my Terajet, which replaced my piperider. Getting full speeds again (2700/340)
UPDATE 01/21/04 - Rogers is finally sending a tech over to try and figure out my connection/speed problems on thursday
UPDATE 01/02/04 - Starting in November, my speeds went up to 2700/360... however in the last three weeks my speeds have been jumping between 500/223, 1420/260, and 2100/310, the latter only during early morning and late night... However today my speeds have been lower than they where when I still used Lite... 120/66, 50/49, 69/60... Rogers will be getting a call from me later, but I don't expect anything out of it...
UPDATE 10/13/03 - My Terayon modem keeps disconnecting, my pings have gone up, and my speed has gone down. I guess the company that I hate most just proved me wrong again.
UPDATE 8/14/03 - We got fed up with the speeds and updated to Rogers Hi-Speed Internet from Hi-Speed Lite. I'm getting great value for the money now, 1400/189 Speeds. Only thing they need to improve on is techsupport. I updated my Pre-Sales and Install rating for the new Hi-Speed Service. I got a new Terayon TeraJet DOCSIS cable modem. I liked my old Piperider better but what can you do?
UPDATE 05/01/03 - My internet connection just went down in speed. From 120kb\s i'm at 30kb\s. My upload is faster at 40. To top things off, Rogers sent me a letter saying they were rasing the price of my Bundle (including cable internet and cable television) by $5, for the Internet. I'm am seriously considering leaving Rogers.
UPDATE 02/28/03 -The School across the street got a new modem and it's uncapped. My connection is slow.
UPDATE 02/02/03 - Rogers changed my phub from mtth to mtmk and now I no longer get doubles on newsgroups.
I purchased a Rogers Bundle in August 2002. The price is $89. I was paying $85 for my Rogers Digital Cable so for $5 more a month I got 128/64 Cable "Lite". One day I lost my connection. It seemed my computer's TCP/IP was messed up. I called Rogers and right away they said "Sorry, we can't help". I did a re-format to fix that. I have had pretty constant speeds around 121/59 according to Speakeasy tests. Read my Connection Diary for day-by-day information.
Rogers could of done a better job on news groups though.... :/
