................ 2008-03-27 ................ Well, after 6 years, I'm back.
Signed up for Extreme--still think it's a bit expensive.
Unlike Bell, advertised rate is approximately equal to actual rate.
Tech support is in house.
The addition of DOCSIS(1,2) and node capacity did wonders for overall stability. Signal levels are healthy. Latency is equivalent to DSL. Speed is consistent. Throttling doesn't affect me (area dependent), and I use less than 100GB/month. Can't complain!
Looking forward to DOCSIS3. Keep it up Teddy.
................ 2002-11-08 ................ I'm with Sympatico now. Speed's a bit faster than advertised. My line's on interleave but I'm working to turn it off.
Rogers had 3000/384, decent pings and stability, but since @Home folded everything went downhill. Shortly after I joined, speeds dropped to 1500/192 and rumors have it they're in the process of installing bandwidth monitoring equipment. I've had weeks of downtime and many calls to tech support which resolved very little.
I'm just sitting back hoping they will improve. If not, as November approaches I'll be switching back to DSL.
