Well, I had Satellite internet from Xplornet for about 8 months...it was expensive to install yes, but it was just horrid, latency like no tommorrow, and just plain slow. I didn't call to their support because it would have been fruitless, so I looked around and saw this "Rogers Portable Internet", and based on the maps, it looked like it was available in my area.
So I called Saturday night, got the modem today, fired it up, got 2 bars for signal strength, good enough for me . Set it up in about 10 minutes and was good to go...speeds are advertised, and internet browsing is snappy, and ping times look like they're right where I expected them to be (about 20ms more, for ping times in the 80ms range, sure beats 2000ms).
So yeah, I'm happy with the installation and setup, I've heard they can't track BW usage, but I'm not gonna go bonkers with it...I wonder if its ever congested, but I doubt many people up here even have it.
So yeah, if you're in an area that you can't get Cable or DSL, and can get this product, I'd recommend it bar none over any other option available...the price is decent, and it works! No contract, modem was $99 only...and $45...not too shabby for living out in the stix.
