    UPDATE 04/25/07:

MessUp Notworkz has been down again since last night. Seems like everytime it snows, they go down. Still claiming they can't get to the tower to do upgrades - but a bunch of buddies and I took our ATVs up there about a week ago, and had no problems.

These guys just can't get their sh*t together no matter what! And they love to lie to their customers. Meanwhile, my Yukon connection is chugging away (I got a new dual-wan Linksys, so I can use them both at the same time now).

    UPDATE 02/28/07:

Nope, doesn't work. Down again. Tried different DNS servers. I think it's the 1300ms latency to their POP that is causing me issues.

    UPDATE 02/28/07:

ROFLMAO!!! These people are hilarious!!!!! Check this out:

"NOTICE: (02/26/07) - We are experiencing continued connectivity issues in the Teller county area and we have been attempting to get a helicopter to the 12,500 peak of Almagre mountain where our link is for this area. However the helicopters are unwilling to fly due to the low jet stream and high winds. Today we are attempting to get up the mountain with snowmobiles and snowshoes to get this issue resolved. However our technicians are facing "winter" conditions to get to the mountain top. We will keep this page current as updates become available. Thank you for your continued patience."

When you call for tech support, after you listen to 8 minutes of crap about how to power cycle your system, they say they are now having DNS problems. Probably why my neighbor hasn't been able to get online with them all day again! I guess they really do have absolutely no idea of how to run a network. I just can't stop laughing! Meanwhile, my Yukon connection is working fine, blazing along at a nice 7-8Mbps. I still have my Mesa account, maybe I'll go try it and see if it works today or not.

    ORIGINAL POST

I have had Mesa Networks for about a year and a half. It was them or satellite which is even more of a joke. Anyway I had the 1.5M package and usually got about 100K down and 500K up. Not sure why more up than down, probabyl have their network misconfigured. Tech support is WORTHLESS and rarely even answers the phone. Can't tell you how many times I've left voicemails for these idiots and never heard back from them. Oh wait, no, I do, they always tell me to "power cycle." I've worked in the computer business for over 15 years and you can't tell me to "power cycle" because your crap isn't working.

Anyway enuf about how much they suck. Now on to the good stuff! I just switched to Yukon Communications. I saw a flyer and called and talked to Derek. He was a little rough around the edges with the details, but I figured I would give them a try. Free install since I was switching from Mesa, so I couldn't go wrong. The same guy I talked to on the phone (Derek) came out the next morning and put up their equipment which looks just like Mesa's. He offered to take their down, but I told him no, they'd proabbyl want to charge me $$$$$ for removing their crap from my house. I'm getting a solid 7M down but am only paying for the 3M package. Its $60 per month, free install, and I have their VoIP for $20 month more. It seems to work fine, havent used it too much though.

    Nice advertisement

I've had Mesa, previously Peak Internet for almost 3.5 years now. Everyone on my street has them as well. I called in to you guys (Yukon Communications) just to see how your pricing was setup and you finally answered the phone after 3 tries. Is that a reflection of how you are going to run? Because that won't fly in this community. Anyways, I've never had to sit on hold for more than 10 mins when I call in and they are up all the time. Apparently you either don't know what you're talking about or you work for Yukon and you are trying to slander Mesa's name. I'm leaning towards the latter with the way you post replies like spam to everyone's comments. Good luck trying to make it against Mesa's awesome rep they've built in my neighborhood (Druid Hills)

    Keep rockin' Mesa!

    haha, ok JAMES! (Mesa employee)
I still have your service installed at my house and it's been down for almost three days now. And your voicemail on your tech support line (you know, because you don't answer the tech line) says you're taking a helicopter to your tower to fix it. HAHA!! That's funny.
    Get real.

    @travister:
The message you were hearing before you called in is legitimate. Unfortunatly, there is to much snow to just haul the amount of equipment that Mesa need up that mountain. I know for a fact that they did hire a helicopter to attempt to fly up the mountain. I hope this is an indicator of what they are willing to do for their customers.
If there is a high level of RF radiation out in your area on the frequency being used, then you are going to have problems, no matter which WISP you use.
