I just had BS IFITL (Fiber) FastAccess installed on Friday and am enjoying speeds up to 2.1mb/sec. The installer was knowledgeable and courteous. The only problem I have with the inside wiring is that they use a biscuit jack
instead of an RJ-45 wall plate. No effect on functionality, just an
aesthetic issue. They had to run a new CAT-5 cable from the pedestal and
install a new NID outside. The cable appears to be a special CAT-5 which
can be direct buried without being in a conduit. A separate contractor will be out in a couple of days to bury the line.

The installer wanted to use WinPoet, but I insisted we use the demo of NTS
Enternet which I had downloaded. Running on NT, I felt Enternet was more
stable and integrated, not having to use a dialup adaptor like WinPoet. I
installed and we set up my bellsouth.net account up on-line. The only
SNAFU was that I didn't realize I needed to put "@bellsouth.net" in the
username field of Enternet. After that, I was surfing at speeds faster
than our T1 at work. Connection has been nailed up for 72 hours. So far
so good!
