customer since 2004. had subscribed prior but dropped when @home went by the wayside with resulting latency issues. currently experiencing frequent disconnects, slow page loads, refresh failures- had contacted tech support who acknowledged there was problem on their end. they continue (?) in their efforts to repair (I haven't heard from them in two weeks- problem continues). I will probably wait till end of month for resolution.

April 2008. Review update (keep getting IM's fm system to update)- switched to DSL shortly after original review. switched back after experiencing sync problems (bad copper, line distance, taps, whatever). Cox has since resolved earlier problems and right now is only decent broadband available for our neighborhood, 2 miles south of LSU. AT&T has since added remote DSLAM but only offer 1.5 due to central office equipment limitations. AT&T is pushing statewide franchise with legislation out of committee @ state capitol. today they publicized UVerse for this area in 12 to 18 months. Will probably switch once it's been up and running a while.

March 2009. Service has deteriorated since hurricane Gustav system outage (Sept 2008). Cox lost most of their overhead lines in our area due to tree limb damage (most subdivisions have underground utilities, feeds are overhead). Service was restored in about ten days. However, service since has been hit or miss with poor latency and speeds. Still waiting for Uverse. ATT expects to begin signing customers this summer. Will be switching ASAP rather than waiting a while as was my earlier plan.

November 2011. Service is still poor. Upgraded to Docsis 3 modem last fall and am currently experiencing T3 timeouts. Techs were out and advised ingress at pedestal. Two weeks later, T3 timeouts continue. Tried calling but due to "high call volume" was unable to reach anyone. Had hoped to switch to Uverse but their service isn't available for our subdivision due to deteriorated copper. Current plan will be switching to Eatel fiber but I'm guessing buildout for our area is at least a year out.

July 2015. Service is adequate. Minor outages that seem to follow a Cox contractor working in the area? Gave up on Uverse. Last year they finally started marketing service but due to aged underground copper are doing service disconnects as fast as new installs. Nothing re Eatel. Buildout died a very quiet death. Have started using local library. Everything I need with no monthly bill.

Re: Service Issues

I apologize for the problems you've been having with your Internet connection. I see your modem logging errors that your neighbor's connections are not which leads me to believe that you're either having a problem with your modem or the signal to your home. Either of these could probably be resolved by us sending a technician out to the home. Feel free to PM me if you are interested in this.

Re: Service Issues

001e46842046 is the HFC MAC.

I just switched to Premiere today and the maximum speed I get is this:

Yea. It's been like this for months, ever since the Winter storm.

modem logging errors

I had switched modems last fall to a Motorola SB5101 after I had posted these issues. Problems continued with testing at ground block. Contacting local office for repairs ends up with referral to engineering who in my case do not communicate with the outside world. Thank you for your response

Re: modem logging errors

Could you PM me the new modem's MAC address? I think I have outdated information for you if that's the case.

LOL, "do not communicate with the outside world"

That's awesome, only a cox user could understand!
