customer since 2004. had subscribed prior but dropped when @home went by the wayside with resulting latency issues. currently experiencing frequent disconnects, slow page loads, refresh failures- had contacted tech support who acknowledged there was problem on their end. they continue (?) in their efforts to repair (I haven't heard from them in two weeks- problem continues). I will probably wait till end of month for resolution.
April 2008. Review update (keep getting IM's fm system to update)- switched to DSL shortly after original review. switched back after experiencing sync problems (bad copper, line distance, taps, whatever). Cox has since resolved earlier problems and right now is only decent broadband available for our neighborhood, 2 miles south of LSU. AT&T has since added remote DSLAM but only offer 1.5 due to central office equipment limitations. AT&T is pushing statewide franchise with legislation out of committee @ state capitol. today they publicized UVerse for this area in 12 to 18 months. Will probably switch once it's been up and running a while.
March 2009. Service has deteriorated since hurricane Gustav system outage (Sept 2008). Cox lost most of their overhead lines in our area due to tree limb damage (most subdivisions have underground utilities, feeds are overhead). Service was restored in about ten days. However, service since has been hit or miss with poor latency and speeds. Still waiting for Uverse. ATT expects to begin signing customers this summer. Will be switching ASAP rather than waiting a while as was my earlier plan.
