ORIGINAL: My DSL was too slow at 512/128. COX has 6.0/512 advertised with a special deal for two months. I went with that and never looked back. The installer arrived on time and was very friendly. The service has been solid and fast since day one and continues to be after a month. So far, I'm very happy.
UPDATE: I'm still very happy. There was only one outage since I signed up and that was planned due to construction or updates. Speed is excellent and consistent, and Speed Boost is terrific. Sometimes I get double my rated speed. I can even upgrade to 10.0/1.0, but I honestly don't need that much speed.
If you have a choice between COX High Speed Internet and Embarq DSL, so with COX. Embarq still doesn't offer the speed or value.
NEW UPDATE: I'm still VERY happy with my COX high speed service. It's fast and very reliable. There is the occasional burp, but it usually sorts itself out in short order. I have never had to call for service. With Speedboost, downloads are usually VERY fast ... even faster than the advertised speed.
