    My wife and I just moved to the Phoenix area from San Francisco. I got an install date within a couple days of the moving truck dropping off our household goods. The installer arrived at the end of the appointment window, but at least he called ahead a couple hours to say when he would arrive (never had that happen before).

    At the time I hadn't unpacked/found my modem yet so the installer set up the TV right away. I found my modem, called in the MAC address and was up and running within two minutes. I'm getting good speeds up and down so I'm happy.

    I always knew an install should be this simple. I still can't for the life of me understand why when I had a Comcast install a couple years ago, the tech had to spend a good twenty minutes on my PowerBook trying to get it connected. What's up with that? It's not the computer, it's the MAC address you clown.

    I feel your pain.

    I've read countless postings that installers have lots of trouble if the computer is not Windows.

    Windows should be first, but they should include training on other OSs as well.
