Original order was placed Mar 9th, CATV service went hot Mar 13th, picked up modem on Mar 16th and was on-line the same day. No problem with modem provisioning, no need to install any client-side software, just hooked it up and away we went!
Scheduled an install for additional outlets a week later. Tech was on-time, did the job quickly, and cleaned up after himself.
Signed up for a deal which included 3 months of service for $20 and a free modem. Was definitely a good deal at that price, but still OK at $42. No FiOS competition here yet, unfortunately.
Best speed tested (prior to hooking up a router) was 10+M down/1.5M up. Typical speed now with all the doodads on-line is 5.5M down/1M up during the day, about 3.5M down/750k up in the evenings. I live in a high-density townhouse development, so I'm not surprised.
Best part of this service is being able to go to a customer service center which actually looks like a professional business location -- as opposed to the jail-like Comcast center -- and being able to speak with people who can fix a problem instead of make excuses.
